Umoh Ben Udowa, FCA, an experienced and target driven multi-disciplinary professional with impressive record of managing multi-billion Naira budgets, is presently an Executive Director at Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP) and the Group Managing Director/CEO of Madelyn Group. He has his core expertise and interests in strategic management, entrepreneurship development, financial management/consulting, money market and treasury, banking operations, accounting/control, taxation, oil and gas services, research and development, procurement/supplies and legal advisory.
Barr. Umoh Udowa’s enviable working career spans mainly through the banking sector, rising fast to Management positions in recognition of his exceptional ability to beat his targets. He was Regional Director (Cross River/Akwa Ibom), United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA); Regional Director (Victoria Island/Ikoyi Region 1), Access Bank Plc and Managing Director/CEO, Madelyn Microfinance Bank Limited, to list these few.
He holds several academic and professional qualifications which include an MBA in Marketing, a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration and Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Lagos, Akoka; Rivers State University, Port Harcourt; University of Calabar, Calabar and the Nigerian Law School, Abuja respectively.
Udowa is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria; Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; Member, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria; Member, Nigerian Bar Association; Member, Dispute Resolution Specialists of Nigeria and Associate Member, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom.
He has undertaken several professional trainings and courses both overseas and in Nigeria.
Dr. Ebose Augustine Osegha is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Before his appointment in February, 2018, he was the Company’s Executive Director, Business Development and Marketing. He joined Anchor Insurance in January, 2017 from Standard Alliance Insurance Plc where he was General Manager/Divisional Head, Public Sector, Brokers Marketing and Emerging Markets.
He holds B.Sc (Hons.) degree in Economics, Delta State University, Abraka; MBA, University of Ado-Ekiti, Ado-Ekiti; Masters in Business Administration, specialising in Research (M.Res. degree) from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Business Administration, specialising in Entrepreneurship and Small Scale Business Management, Babcock University, Ilishan, Ogun State.
Dr. Ebose is a Member of the Governing Council, Nigerian Insurers’ Association; Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administrators and Member, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN); Institute of Directors; Ikoyi Club 1938 and NAICOM’s Publicity/Communication Sub-Committee, among others.
Mr. Ukpong Ekwere Ukpong is presently the Managing Director/CEO of Anituson Enterprises Nigeria Limited, ENID Production and Construction Limited and Chairman, ENID Laboratories Limited.
He was Executive Director/General Manager (West/Abuja), Chartered Aluminum System Limited; Chief Accountant and later first Nigerian Business Centre Manager (West) at First Aluminum Plc and External Auditor at Peat Marwick now KPMG, among others.
Dr. Nsikan Linus Nkan, a quintessential finance expert and well versed in Accounting and Public Finance Management, is the Commissioner for Finance, Akwa Ibom State. He was the State Accountant-General before his appointment as Commissioner.
Dr. Nkan got his first appointment with the Ideal Flour Mills Ltd., Kaduna before venturing into the banking industry where he had a fruitful and impacting career with some banks including FBN(Merchants Bankers) Ltd; Zenith Bank Plc where he rose to the position of Assistant General Manager and Zonal Head, Akwa Ibom State Zone.
He holds Ph.D in Accounting, University of Uyo, MBA from the University of Ado-Ekiti and B.Sc. in Accounting, then University of Cross River State, now University of Uyo. He is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Mr. Christopher Attah is a Partner at The Zenith Law Firm. He is a boardroom technocrat who sits on the boards of companies which include Meristem Securities Limited, Unitech Drilling Company Limited, Alvita Mineral Ventures Limited and Brownstone C.C. (PTY) Limited (South Africa).
He started his career at the law firm of Paul Usoro and Co., where he managed the South-east Nigeria office. He then moved to the multi-billion dollar Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON,) a PPP between the Federal Government of Nigeria, Ferrostaal AG and Reynolds International Inc.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Wolverhampton. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1996.
He is a member of the Nigeria Gas Association, Nigerian Capital Markets Solicitors Association, Business Support Group and Emerging Markets Private Equity Association.
Mrs. Comfort Ewang, a frontline school administrator and a one-time First Lady of Ogun and Rivers States respectively, is the Director, Beulah International School, a foremost private school of reference based in Akwa Ibom State.
She holds a Master’s degree from London School of Economics, United Kingdom (2001); Master’s degree in Education, University of Calabar (1995); First degree in Education, University of Nigeria (1984) and NCE, College of Education, Uyo (1977).
Mrs. Ewang brings to the Board her deep knowledge of administration and governance matters.
Mr. Akin Taiwo, a non-Executive Director (Independent Director) on the Board of the Company, is a Chairman on several Boards including Refuge Home Savings and Loans Ltd, RHSL Property & Investment Ltd. Between 1997 and 1998, he was Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Ogun State.
He is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Associate Member, Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He had headed Project Management Team for World Bank, IFC and Shelter Afrique.
Prof. Paul Okon Udofot is a passionate academic, public administrator, banker, consultant and a thorough Management and behaviour change expert with over 35 years of professional experience.
Udofot is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Organisational Behaviour at the University of Uyo where he has been lecturing since December 2003 and a Visiting Professor at Topfaith University, Mkpatak, both in Akwa Ibom State. He had, at a time, served as Director, Centre for Skills Acquisition and Rural Development at the University of Uyo.
Prior to moving to the academic world, he had worked as Branch Manager, People’s Bank of Nigeria; Zonal Head (Edo/Delta) of the Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructure (DFRRI); Managing Associate at Management Dynamics.
Prof. Udofot has a Ph.D in Management from the University of Uyo (2012); a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), University of Benin (1998) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economic Statistics from Odessa School of Economics, Ukraine (1987).
He is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), the Nigeria Academy of Management and the International Society of Development and Sustainability, Japan.
Mr. Adebisi Ikuomola is our Executive Director, Technical. He is an authority in insurance technical operations with over 30 years of professional experience in the insurance industry.
He started his insurance career with Marine and General in 1989 before moving to Trustworld Insurance Company Limited as Controller, Technical. He left for Colenson Insurance Brokers where he served as Deputy General Manager. He, thereafter, moved to A & G Insurance Company as Chief Technical Officer where he joined Anchor Insurance as the Group Head, Technical.
Mr. Ikuomola holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Transport and Logistics Management from the American Institute of Stores and Inventory Management (2024), an MBA in Marketing, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (2009) and HND in Business Administration, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic {2007).
He is an Associate member of numerous professional bodies which include the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), Chartered Institute of Operations and Supply Chain Management (USA), Chartered Institute of Inventory Control Management Professionals (CICMP), and Chartered Institute of Procurement and Logistics Professionals (CPLP).
